Self-modeling involves videotaping clients and showing them footage of

themselves performing the desired behavior. This type of modeling can be effective as it allows the client to see themselves successfully completing the behavior and serves as a positive reinforcement. Live modeling, on the other hand, involves observing others performing the behavior in real life. Symbolic modeling involves observing models in a symbolic form, such as through books or movies. Participant modeling involves participating in the modeled behavior with the guidance of an instructor. These types of modeling may be helpful, but they do not involve clients being videotaped.
